Carley Fortune is a Canadian writer of contemporary romance and women’s fiction, best known for the novels Every Summer After, Meet Me at the Lake, and This Summer Will Be Different. A former journalist and magazine editor, she is a New York Times and Globe and Mail bestselling author.
Biography & Author's Journey
Carley Fortune built her literary career on places she knew intimately long before she published a novel. She spent parts of her young life in the suburbs of Sydney, Australia, and in Barry’s Bay, a small lakeside town in rural Ontario; both landscapes later fed the atmosphere and emotional geography of her fiction. She earned a Bachelor of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University and then built a substantial media career, working across Canadian publications that included Toronto Life, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, and Refinery29 Canada, where she helped launch the Canadian edition and served as executive editor.
