Joyce Meyer, born Pauline Joyce Hutchison on June 4, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, emerged from a troubled and traumatic childhood marked by extensive abuse to become one of the world’s most influential Christian authors and speakers. After graduating from O’Fallon Technical High School, she married a part-time car salesman, but the relationship was tumultuous and ended in divorce. Joyce’s early adulthood was marked by instability, including financial struggles and emotional turmoil. Her life took a pivotal turn when she married Dave Meyer in 1967, whose steadfast support was instrumental in her personal transformation. In 1976, a spiritual experience triggered a profound reawakening, leading Joyce to begin teaching Bible studies in her community.
