James Altucher is an American author, entrepreneur, investor, and podcaster whose work spans entrepreneurship, investing, and self-improvement. He is best known for Choose Yourself, alongside books such as The Power of No and Skip the Line. A Wall Street Journal bestselling author, he has published more than 20 books.
James Altucher built a career at the intersection of code, markets, and personal narrative. Trained in computer science and artificial intelligence, he spent years writing unpublished fiction before moving to New York in 1994, where he worked around HBO and the early web while trying to become both entrepreneur and writer. That dual identity never really disappeared: technical fluency gave him one route into business, but writing remained the place where he shaped experience into argument, confession, and advice.
