Donald Trump is an American businessman, politician, and media personality whose books focus on entrepreneurship, dealmaking, and politics. Best known as coauthor of Trump: The Art of the Deal, a No. 1 national bestseller, he has also written The Art of the Comeback and The America We Deserve, while later serving as the 45th and 47th U.S. president. Donald Trump was born in Queens, New York, on June 14, 1946, the fourth of five children of Fred and Mary Trump. After attending the New York Military Academy, he studied first at Fordham University and then at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in economics in 1968. He entered his father’s real estate business and, in the late 1970s and 1980s, shifted its focus from outer-borough housing into high-visibility Manhattan hotels, towers, and later Atlantic City casinos. A debt and bankruptcy crisis in the early 1990s became one of the defining reversals of his business career, but he returned in the later 1990s with new developments and a restored national profile.
