Donald Miller

Born: August 12, 1971 – Houston, Texas, United States

Donald Miller is an American author, public speaker, and entrepreneur best known for his New York Times bestselling memoir Blue Like Jazz, which explores faith and self-discovery. He is the CEO of StoryBrand, a marketing company, and has significantly influenced both Christian spirituality and business communication through his widely read books and frameworks.

Biography & Author's Journey

Donald Miller emerged from a challenging early life in Houston, Texas, marked by his parents' divorce and a sense of rootlessness, to become an acclaimed voice in both Christian spirituality and business communication. After leaving home at nineteen, Miller attended Reed College but did not finish, opting instead for a path defined by self-exploration and storytelling. This formative period catalyzed his journey as a writer, eventually leading to the publication of his first book, “Prayer and the Art of Volkswagen Maintenance,” which chronicled a cross-country trip and set the introspective, narrative tone that would define his work.
