Janet Mills is a publisher and co-author focused on Toltec wisdom, spirituality, and personal growth. As founder and president of Amber-Allen Publishing, she co-authored the bestselling Toltec Wisdom Series with don Miguel Ruiz, including The Four Agreements, The Mastery of Love, and The Fifth Agreement, with editions published in 46 languages worldwide.
Janet Mills built her career less through formal literary institutions than through entrepreneurial self-education. She entered publishing in 1990 to release her own book, Free of Dieting Forever, and later described her training in the business as hands-on. From that start she founded Amber-Allen Publishing in Marin County, naming it after her cat, Amber, and her friend Marc Allen, and kept it intentionally small and selective. Over time she became known not only as a publisher but also as an editor of durable personal-growth titles, including Deepak Chopra’s The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and books by Jane Roberts.
