The 3-Minute Rule encourages leaders to address minor issues or provide praise privately within three minutes of noticing them. By giving feedback immediately and in small doses, it prevents issues from fermenting into major problems that feel like an "ambush" during a formal performance review. This practice helps build a culture of Radical Candor where honest communication is a normal, daily occurrence rather than a scary event.

How can "Simulated Failure" be used as a training tool for staff?

Simulated Failure involves putting staff through controlled exercises where their plans are intentionally challenged until they break. Instead of just reading a handbook, staff role-play stressful scenarios, such as a campus policy change or a difficult student meeting.
