Joshua Fields Millburn is an American author, podcaster, and filmmaker best known as co-founder of The Minimalists. He writes about minimalism, intentional living, consumerism, and personal growth, notably in Everything That Remains and Love People, Use Things. Through books, essays, documentaries, and a popular podcast, he has helped mainstream minimalist ideas.
Joshua Fields Millburn is an American author, podcaster, filmmaker, and writing instructor best known as one half of The Minimalists. Born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1981, he grew up poor in a turbulent household, finished high school early, attended audio-engineering school, and entered the workforce instead of college. He spent the next decade climbing the corporate ladder, eventually becoming the youngest director in his company’s history. The decisive turning point came in late 2009, when his mother died and his marriage ended in the same month. That double loss pushed him to question the consumer-driven life he had built, adopt minimalism, pay down debt, and leave corporate work in 2011 to write full time.
