In a production-grade RAG pipeline, data is turned into embeddings (numerical representations of meaning). The system then uses a two-stage process: a "coarse" vector search to find related context, followed by a "reranker" model that scores those results to provide the LLM with the most accurate information, significantly reducing hallucinations.
