This Privacy Policy explains how beFreed, Inc. ("BeFreed," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your Personal Data when you use the BeFreed app or website.

We collect only what is needed to personalize your learning experience, and we do not sell your Personal Data.

1. What We Collect

We may collect:

• Account information (email, login details)
• Your prompts, topics, or learning goals
• App activity and personalization preferences
• Device/session data for security and performance
  Support messages you send to us

We do not collect biometric data, government ID numbers, or payment card numbers (payments are handled by the App Store, Stripe or Google Play).

2. How We Use Your Data

We use Personal Data to:

• Provide and personalize your learning experience
• Generate AI-based educational audio
• Improve feature quality and reliability
• Communicate essential product or account updates
  Maintain security and prevent abuse

We may use anonymized or aggregated data to improve the platform, but it can no longer identify you.

3. Data Sharing

We may share limited data with trusted service providers that help us operate the platform (e.g., hosting, analytics, audio generation).
These vendors may only use data on our behalf and cannot use it for their own training or advertising.

We do not sell Personal Data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

We use Claude, Anthropic’s AI service, to help generate educational material. This service receives only general topic and content information. It does not receive personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or account details. User-specific personalization is processed entirely within BeFreed’s own infrastructure.

4. AI Use & Personalization

Your Inputs (topics, learning preferences, interactions) are used to generate personalized Outputs.
If any Personal Data appears inside an Input, it is processed only to fulfill your request and is never redistributed publicly unless anonymized. Third-party AI models used by BeFreed do not store or retain user data beyond the duration of each request, and are contractually prohibited from using any data we send to train or improve their models.

5. Security & Retention

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data.
We keep Personal Data only as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the Service.
Anonymized data may be retained for analytics and platform improvement.

6. Children's Privacy

BeFreed is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 18. If we learn that a child under 18 has used the Service, we will delete the account and associated data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if our practices change. If we make material changes, we will provide the updated version in the app and web.
