Paulo Coelho de Souza é o autor brasileiro de sucesso internacional de Veronika Decide Morrer e um mestre da ficção espiritual e filosófica.

Nascido no Rio de Janeiro em 1947, Coelho baseou-se em suas próprias experiências de ter sido internado involuntariamente em instituições psiquiátricas quando adolescente para criar esta profunda exploração da saúde mental, da conformidade social e da coragem de viver de forma autêntica. O romance incorpora seus temas característicos de despertar espiritual e autodescoberta, moldados por sua transformadora peregrinação de 1986 pelo Caminho de Santiago, na Espanha.

Suas outras obras célebres incluem O Alquimista, Onze Minutos e O Diário de um Mago.
