Ernest Kurtz (1935-2015) é o autor de The Spirituality of Imperfection e um renomado historiador de Alcoólicos Anônimos e especialista em espiritualidade. Escrita em coautoria com Katherine Ketcham, esta obra marcante explora os princípios espirituais — embora não necessariamente religiosos — que fundamentam a recuperação e a transformação humana, enfatizando a aceitação da imperfeição através do poder de contar histórias.

Kurtz obteve seu Ph.D. pela Universidade de Harvard em 1978, e sua tese de doutorado tornou-se Not-God: A History of Alcoholics Anonymous, amplamente considerada a crônica autoritária da fundação e desenvolvimento de AA.
