This is the haunting premise of "Roadside Picnic," where six locations around our planet were briefly occupied by extraterrestrial beings who then departed without acknowledgment, leaving behind mysterious "Zones" filled with inexplicable phenomena and artifacts. Nobel Prize-winning physicist Dr. Valentine Pillman offers the perfect metaphor: what if these aliens simply stopped on Earth for a roadside picnic? Picture forest creatures investigating the remnants of a human picnic-ants crawling into discarded cans, a fox burning its paw on still-hot coals. These animals cannot comprehend the true purpose of these items or the beings who left them. Some objects might prove deadly, others beneficial, but all remain fundamentally incomprehensible.
