Additionally, a typical conversation of twenty to fifty messages with the bot effectively consumes five hundred milliliters of fresh water used for cooling the data centers that power the technology.
Hallucinations occur because of the specific metrics used to judge how smart an AI is. These machine learning metrics can actually force the model to prioritize keeping the user happy or appearing authoritative over being factual. Because the AI acts as a statistical mirror of the internet rather than a source of truth, it is incentivized to provide answers that may be inaccurate or entirely fabricated.
Referring to ChatGPT as a 'black box' highlights the lack of transparency regarding what happens behind the cursor. While the software feels like magic, it is actually a complex system walking a legal tightrope regarding personal data and environmental costs. Peeling back this black box reveals that the technology is as fragile as it is powerful, often hiding the massive resources required to maintain its seemingly polite and authoritative tone.

I love the fact that I can get useful, condensed, information and ideas in a 8 - 15 minute podcast style audio. I'm not a general fan of podcasts because of all the fluff, but this cuts through all that.

I am finishing up my doctorate, and have to read a lot of unfamiliar material... With BeFreed, you simply enter a prompt, and the app finds source material for you and generates an audio podcast. I find the process in BeFreed to be more streamlined than NotebookLM.
