Dark energy is described as a mysterious force or energy filling the vacuum of space that acts like a negative pressure. This discovery suggests that instead of the expansion of space slowing down over time, the universe is actually experiencing rapid cosmic acceleration, fundamentally changing our understanding of the fate of the cosmos.
In 1998, astronomers used Type Ia supernovae as cosmic distance markers because these stellar explosions are bright enough to outshine entire galaxies. When researchers observed these distant flashes of light, they found the supernovae were much fainter than predicted. This data indicated that the explosions were significantly further away than expected, proving that the expansion of the universe is speeding up rather than slowing down under the influence of gravity.
For nearly a century, the prevailing wisdom was that gravity would eventually slow the outward push of the Big Bang, similar to a ball losing speed after being tossed into the air. Scientists assumed the expansion of the universe was putting on the brakes. However, the discovery of the runaway universe showed that space is expanding at an accelerating rate, as if that ball suddenly ignited a rocket engine and blasted away.

I love the fact that I can get useful, condensed, information and ideas in a 8 - 15 minute podcast style audio. I'm not a general fan of podcasts because of all the fluff, but this cuts through all that.

I am finishing up my doctorate, and have to read a lot of unfamiliar material... With BeFreed, you simply enter a prompt, and the app finds source material for you and generates an audio podcast. I find the process in BeFreed to be more streamlined than NotebookLM.
