Matthew McKay, Ph.D., is a prominent American clinical psychologist, prolific author, and educator whose career has significantly shaped the landscape of self-help and evidence-based psychology publishing. Born in the mid-20th century, McKay completed his undergraduate studies in political science at the University of San Francisco, earned an M.A. in psychology from San Jose State University, and received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.
