Barbara Ellen Kingsolver es la autora ganadora del Premio Pulitzer de La Biblia de los árboles de veneno (The Poisonwood Bible), una obra maestra literaria que explora el colonialismo, la fe y el choque cultural en el África poscolonial.

Nacida en 1955 y criada en la zona rural de Kentucky, Kingsolver obtuvo títulos en biología por la Universidad DePauw y la Universidad de Arizona, aportando una profundidad científica a su narrativa.
