Jon Krakauer es el autor superventas de Into Thin Air (Mal de altura): A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster y un experimentado montañista que sobrevivió a la catastrófica expedición al Everest de 1996 en la que murieron ocho escaladores. Nacido en 1954 y criado en Oregón, Krakauer comenzó a escalar a los ocho años y aporta décadas de experiencia en montañismo a esta desgarradora obra de periodismo de aventura.
