Jill Bolte Taylor is an American neuroanatomist and author whose work centers on brain function, stroke recovery, neuroplasticity, and consciousness. Jill Bolte Taylor is an American neuroanatomist whose career grew out of an intensely personal question. Raised in Indiana, she has said that her brother’s eventual diagnosis of schizophrenia first drew her toward the study of the brain and toward the larger problem of what people call “normal” perception. That curiosity led her into advanced study in Indiana and then into postdoctoral research in Harvard’s Department of Psychiatry, where she pursued the question of how the brain creates a sense of reality. From the start, her path joined rigorous anatomy with a deeply human interest in consciousness, illness, and the fragile mechanics of identity. ((https://drjilltaylor.com/about/))
