Claudia Hammond is a British author, broadcaster, and psychology lecturer whose work explores psychology, neuroscience, mental health, and human behavior. She is known for books including Emotional Rollercoaster, Mind Over Money, and The Keys to Kindness, and for presenting BBC Radio programs that make psychological research accessible to broad audiences.
Claudia Hammond’s career grew from an unusually early certainty about what she wanted to do. In a British Academy conversation, she recalled telling Roald Dahl at a children’s book festival that she wanted to work in radio; by 14 she was volunteering for hospital radio, and at 18 she was already in the newsroom at BBC Three Counties Radio. She then studied applied psychology at the University of Sussex, worked part-time for BBC Radio Sussex while there, and went on to an MSc in health psychology at the University of Surrey. Those parallel interests in broadcasting and human behaviour became the foundation of her later work. ((https://www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk/documents/4639/Leaders_in_SHAPE_-_Claudia_Hammond.pdf))
