Andy Stanley, born Charles Andrew Stanley on May 16, 1958, in Atlanta, emerged from a family already closely associated with ministry: he is the son of Charles Stanley. He earned a journalism degree from Georgia State University and later completed graduate study at Dallas Theological Seminary. Before he became widely known as an author and communicator, he served at First Baptist Atlanta as an associate pastor and minister to students.
