Discover why perfect habits aren't enough to fix persistent stress. Learn to decode your body's hidden signals and move from a state of constant protection to true presence and physiological safety.

The shift is moving from asking 'What is wrong with my body?' to asking 'What is my brain trying to protect?' It’s a highly sophisticated survival mechanism that’s simply doing its best to keep you safe in a world it perceives as threatening.
How can I generate more good feelings in my body? Obviously the basic advice is to focus on nutrition, movement every day, sleep 7-9 hours, keep perspective, and other general recommendations. I’m looking for the next level advice assuming all this is being done, but there’s still persistent feelings of “not good” in my body and mind that I want to work out .

Jackson: You ever feel like you’re doing every single thing right—the sleep, the gym, the meal prep—but your body still feels like it’s humming with this low-grade current of "not good"? It’s so frustrating when you’ve checked all the boxes but still feel wired or heavy.
Nia: It really is. And it’s interesting because we often think of that as a glitch, but it’s actually exposure. We’re living in this "always-on" culture where our stress cycles never actually finish. Research shows that about 77% of people regularly experience physical symptoms caused by stress, even if they think they’re managing it.
Jackson: Wow, 77%? So it’s not that we’re broken; it’s that our nervous system is trying to protect us from a world that moves way faster than our natural rhythm.
Nia: Exactly. It’s a language we were never taught to speak. But once you start listening to those signals—like a tight jaw or shallow breath—as messages rather than problems to fix, everything changes.
Jackson: I love that reframe. So let’s explore how we can move from just "fixing" our habits to actually listening to what our bodies are trying to tell us.
