Much of the anti-American sentiment at the UN is directed at ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), the California nonprofit that regulates domain names. After inconclusive debates at the UN's Tunis summit, the Bush administration firmly stated that management of root directories and domain names would remain a U.S. function. The administration emphasized that the Internet has flourished because governments haven't dominated it, allowing for innovation and freedom.

Standing Against the Global Threat to Freedom

Stripped of emotion, the Second Amendment represents profound respect for human freedom and self-determination. Yet the United Nations claims jurisdiction over American citizens through a treaty demanding surrender of firearm freedoms to their "global thugocracy." The UN even scheduled its largest gun ban conference on U.S. soil on July 4, 2006. This global gun ban movement isn't a fringe effort but a collective of 500 organizations from 100 nations with substantial funding. Their mission extends beyond gun control to sweeping police powers threatening the entire Bill of Rights, including surveillance, documentation, and massive data collection-all without provisions for self-defense rights or serious penalties for actual gun traffickers. The fundamental conflict of our times is between civilization and barbarism. The Second Amendment protects our right to self-defense against tyrants and terrorists-a right with ancient roots recognized across civilizations from Greece and Rome to Jewish, Christian, Confucian, Taoist, and legitimate Islamic traditions. Against this civilized principle stands the UN's barbaric view that self-defense is merely a government-granted privilege. The UN and its terrorist allies are working to destroy the universal right of innocent people to own firearms for defense, whether against lone criminals, organized gangs, UN-funded terrorists, or genocidal governments. America must reject this bargain of trading liberty for false security, as our forefathers did, and defend the Bill of Rights against foreign interference.
