Фёдор Михайлович Достоевский (1821–1881), прославленный русский романист и автор повести «Записки из подполья», почитается за его новаторское исследование экзистенциальной тревоги и психологической сложности. Эта философская повесть, являющаяся краеугольным камнем экзистенциалистской литературы, критикует рационализм и утопические идеалы через фрагментарные монологи своего безымянного главного героя.
