Биография и Путь Автора

Patrick Rothfuss is an American fantasy writer whose path to authorship was unusually long and self-directed. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, he grew up in a household that encouraged reading and invention, and he later attended the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, beginning in chemical engineering before moving through several majors and ultimately graduating in English. He then earned an M.A. from Washington State University in 2002 and returned to Stevens Point, where he taught part-time while continuing to shape the immense manuscript he and his friends simply called “The Book.” A decisive turning point came when an excerpt won the Writers of the Future competition in 2002, helping connect him to agents and, eventually, DAW.
