Joy Dawson was a New Zealand-born Bible teacher, missionary, and author whose formation was described publicly less in terms of formal academic credentials than in terms of prayer, Bible study, and church life. Before her international platform, YWAM’s own history remembers her as a housewife devoted to intercession and to learning the “ways of God,” a background that helps explain the plain, exhortatory style of her later books.
