    Referencing a metaphor by Jonathan Haidt, this concept describes the relationship between our conscious and subconscious minds. The rider represents the rational, conscious mind, while the six-ton elephant represents our emotions and subconscious. Even if the rider wants to change direction, the elephant ultimately steers the path. FramingFuture uses this perspective to explain why reading self-help books often fails to produce real-world results without proper subconscious training.

    Most self-help efforts fail because they provide 'maps' to the rational rider while ignoring the biological reality of the subconscious elephant. This creates an invisible wall between knowing what to do and actually doing it.
