    La industria cultural es un concepto desarrollado por Adorno y Horkheimer para describir cómo la cultura se ha convertido en una fábrica que produce contenidos en serie. Según el guion, se considera una "prisión de libertad" porque, aunque el consumidor cree que elige lo que ve o escucha, en realidad solo consume productos predecibles y estandarizados diseñados para evitar el pensamiento crítico. El ocio no funciona como un descanso del trabajo, sino como una prolongación del mismo que prepara al individuo para seguir siendo una pieza dócil del sistema económico.

    La pseudoindividualidad es la ilusión de tener gustos propios y libertad de elección dentro de un sistema que ofrece opciones casi idénticas. El guion explica que las plataformas digitales, como Spotify o Netflix, utilizan algoritmos para ofrecer recomendaciones "personalizadas" que en realidad refuerzan lo que el usuario ya conoce, manteniéndolo en una zona de confort sin fricciones. Se nos da a elegir entre pequeñas diferencias cosméticas para que creamos que somos únicos, cuando en realidad estamos atrapados en un molde fabricado desde arriba.

    La razón instrumental es aquella que se reduce al cálculo, la utilidad y la eficiencia; no se pregunta si un objetivo es justo, sino cómo lograrlo de la forma más rápida y barata, tratando a las personas y a la cultura como simples herramientas o datos. Por el contrario, la razón comunicativa, propuesta por Habermas, busca el entendimiento genuino entre personas. Es una forma de diálogo orientada a crear vínculos y valores compartidos en el "Mundo de la Vida", sin la intención de manipular al otro para obtener un beneficio económico o de poder.

    El sistema tiene la capacidad de convertir cualquier crítica o movimiento social en una mercancía inofensiva, un fenómeno que Marcuse llamaba "unidimensionalidad". El guion menciona que causas como el feminismo o el ecologismo a menudo se transforman en una simple "estética" o en productos de consumo (como camisetas o series de televisión). Esto genera una catarsis en el espectador, quien siente que ha cumplido con su deber social al emocionarse con una historia de rebeldía en la pantalla, lo que a menudo desactiva la necesidad de actuar o realizar cambios reales en la estructura de poder.

    La resistencia no consiste necesariamente en desconectarse por completo, sino en desarrollar una "distancia crítica" y una "escucha activa". El guion sugiere romper el esquematismo buscando activamente contenidos que nos incomoden o que no encajen en nuestras recomendaciones habituales para mantener la flexibilidad cognitiva.
