When we hunt outside ourselves for love, we become predators in our relationships. We track, pursue, and attempt to capture others' affection, believing it will fill the emptiness within. But this approach always fails because what we're seeking can only be found within our own hearts. The Parasite-our internalized voice of judgment and self-rejection-constantly hunts us, whispering that we're not good enough, not worthy of love, not deserving of happiness. It feeds on our emotional suffering, growing stronger with each negative thought. To defeat this inner predator, we must become more skilled hunters, tracking down and capturing the love that already exists within us. This inner hunt requires courage, persistence, and awareness. We must track our self-judgments, catch ourselves in moments of self-rejection, and consciously choose self-acceptance instead.
