Sobre o Autor

Rick Yancey (Richard Yancey) é o autor best-seller do New York Times de O Mar Infinito e uma voz proeminente na ficção científica jovem adulta e literatura distópica. Nascido em Miami, Flórida, em 1962, Yancey cria narrativas de invasão alienígena repletas de suspense que misturam ação, emoção e temas de sobrevivência.

O Mar Infinito é o segundo livro de sua aclamada trilogia A 5ª Onda, acompanhando uma protagonista adolescente através de um mundo pós-apocalíptico devastado por ataques extraterrestres.

Antes de se tornar um escritor em tempo integral em 2004, Yancey trabalhou como agente do IRS (fisco americano), uma experiência que ele mais tarde relatou em suas memórias Confessions of a Tax Collector. Ele recebeu uma honra Michael L. Printz por The Monstrumologist e também é conhecido por sua série Alfred Kropp.

A trilogia A 5ª Onda — incluindo A 5ª Onda e A Última Estrela — foi adaptada para um grande filme e recebeu uma campanha de marketing de US$ 750.000 da Penguin, um dos maiores esforços promocionais na publicação de literatura jovem adulta.
