While many animals form coalitions for resources, humans uniquely cooperate extensively with non-kin and maintain stable reciprocity. Like linguistics before it, we can anticipate a renaissance in understanding the moral domain. Moral inquiry will no longer belong exclusively to humanities and social sciences but become a shared journey with natural sciences. The universal moral grammar with parametric variation offers a way to think about pluralism, requiring us to understand how parameters are fixed by experience and appreciate that once fixed, we may be as perplexed by another community's moral system as by their language.
