Sobre o Autor

Theodore John Kaczynski (1942–2023), autor de Anti-Tech Revolution: Why and How, foi um matemático americano e terrorista doméstico condenado, conhecido como o Unabomber.

Um prodígio da matemática que ingressou na Universidade de Harvard aos 16 anos, Kaczynski obteve seu Ph.D. pela Universidade de Michigan em 1967 e tornou-se o mais jovem professor assistente na UC Berkeley aos 25 anos. Ele abandonou a academia em 1969 para viver em uma cabana remota em Montana, sem eletricidade ou água encanada, onde desenvolveu uma filosofia antitrabalho extrema.

Entre 1978 e 1995, Kaczynski conduziu uma violenta campanha de atentados à bomba que matou três pessoas e feriu outras 23, visando indivíduos que ele acreditava estarem promovendo a industrialização. Sua obra mais notória, A Sociedade Industrial e Seu Futuro (1995) — comumente chamada de "Manifesto Unabomber" — articula sua crítica radical à sociedade tecnológica e defende a revolução violenta.

Kaczynski foi preso em 1996 após uma das investigações mais longas do FBI e morreu em uma prisão federal em 2023, enquanto cumpria prisão perpétua sem condicional.
