Richard Kingsley Morgan é o autor de best-sellers de Altered Carbon e uma voz pioneira na ficção científica cyberpunk. Nascido em Londres em 1965, Morgan mistura magistralmente o noir "hard-boiled" com a distopia futurista, criando mundos sombrios onde a consciência pode ser transferida digitalmente entre corpos. Seu trabalho bebe fortemente das influências de William Gibson e Raymond Chandler, estabelecendo-o como uma figura de destaque na ficção especulativa moderna.
