John Boyne is an Irish novelist whose work spans historical fiction, literary fiction, and young adult literature. He is best known for The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and The Heart’s Invisible Furies. His books have reached international bestseller lists, been translated into more than 50 languages, and earned multiple Irish Book Awards.
Born in Dublin in 1971, John Boyne studied English literature at Trinity College Dublin before joining the University of East Anglia’s MA in creative writing in 1994, where he won the Curtis Brown Prize.
