Biografia e Jornada do Autor

Ichiro Kishimi was born in Kyoto in 1956 and has remained based there, a continuity that matches the steady shape of his intellectual life. He entered the doctoral program in philosophy at Kyoto University, specializing in the history of Western philosophy, but left before completing the degree. Alongside his work in ancient Greek thought, especially Plato, he began studying Adlerian psychology in 1989. That combination of classical philosophy and practical counseling became the foundation of his public voice. He went on to write and lecture on Adlerian psychology, translate selected works by Alfred Adler into Japanese, and counsel young people in psychiatric clinics as a certified counselor and consultant.
