Durch die Bündelung im Ostfeld will das BKA nicht nur diese logistischen Probleme lösen, sondern auch eine völlig neue Vision für die Zukunft der Behörde umsetzen, die Tradition und moderne Anforderungen an das Behördenmanagement vereint.
Der neue Campus des Bundeskriminalamts wird im sogenannten Ostfeld in Wiesbaden errichtet. Es handelt sich dabei um ein gewaltiges Bauprojekt mit einer geplanten Nutzfläche von fast 250.000 Quadratmetern. Dieser zentrale Standort soll die bisherige Praxis beenden, bei der die Behörde über das gesamte Stadtgebiet verteilt war. Ziel ist es, einen hochmodernen Komplex zu schaffen, der weit über ein einfaches Bürogebäude hinausgeht und dem BKA ermöglicht, als moderne Kriminalpolizei unter optimalen Bedingungen an einem einzigen, integrierten Standort zu arbeiten.
