Explore why Medborgerlig Samling (MED) advocates for a total system restart in Sweden to restore market liberalism, national sovereignty, and libertarian freedom.

MED isn't interested in being a slightly more efficient manager of a bloated state; they want to fundamentally shrink the government's footprint in your life through a total 'Omstart'—a complete restart of the system.

Medborgerlig Samling, or MED, views the current state of Sweden as a house in need of a total system restart, or "Omstart." Unlike the established Tidö parties that suggest minor adjustments or "pragmatism," MED argues for fundamental changes. They aim to move beyond managing a bloated state and instead focus on shrinking the government's footprint to protect market liberalism and libertarian freedom.
While right-wing groups like the Moderates, Christian Democrats, and Sweden Democrats focus on adjustments in the margin, MED positions itself as the only party ready for a complete overhaul. They criticize the Tidö parties for managing a decline rather than reversing it. MED's goal is to be different in kind by fundamentally reducing bureaucracy and the reach of the state in citizens' lives.
MED points to the fact that Sweden currently has 367 different government agencies as a primary reason for high taxes and excessive bureaucracy. They believe these agencies act like a heavy blanket over individual actions and economic freedom. By addressing this bloated system, MED seeks to lower the tax burden and restore national sovereignty and market liberal values for the Swedish people.
