Raúl Fernández Greñas es una figura fundamental del heavy metal mexicano y fundador de la banda Luzbel. A principios de los ochenta, Miles explica que Greñas vivió en Inglaterra, donde participó activamente en la Nueva Ola del Heavy Metal Británico. A pesar de su talento, enfrentó barreras por su nacionalidad, lo que eventualmente lo llevó a regresar a la Ciudad de México para implementar un sonido profesional y pulido que no existía en el país en ese momento.
Durante su tiempo en Inglaterra, Greñas absorbió la influencia directa de bandas icónicas como Iron Maiden y Judas Priest. Nia destaca que, al regresar a México en 1983, no llegó derrotado, sino que traía consigo composiciones originales de su banda inglesa Red, formada en 1981. Estas canciones y el estilo técnico aprendido en Europa se convirtieron en la base genética y el sonido distintivo que definió el origen de Luzbel.
Nia relata que Greñas audicionaba semanalmente en Inglaterra, quedando constantemente entre los tres mejores candidatos gracias a su gran habilidad técnica. Sin embargo, nunca obtenía los puestos principales debido a su origen mexicano y, finalmente, tuvo que abandonar sus proyectos en el Reino Unido por problemas migratorios. Esta frustración fue el catalizador para que regresara a México y plantara la semilla de lo que hoy conocemos como el heavy metal nacional de alta calidad.
Muchas de las piezas fundamentales de Luzbel tienen su origen en Red, la banda que Raúl Fernández Greñas formó con músicos ingleses en 1981. Según comentan Nia y Miles, al volver a la Ciudad de México, Greñas utilizó ese material escrito en el extranjero para establecer una propuesta musical innovadora. Este enfoque permitió que el metal mexicano diera un salto de calidad, alejándose de las copias simples y adoptando una estructura profesional influenciada por la escena internacional.
