Explore the jarring reality of covert narcissism and sibling venom. Learn how spying and the gap between public persona and private behavior impact family dynamics.

The 'innocence' is actually a costume. It’s a way to make sure they’re never the 'bad guy,' even when they’re doing something as weird as spying on their own sibling.
So my brother-in-law is a snake and my sister sleeps around with him so she basically gets his venom, but before they used to throw their venom at me and they used to seem like that bigger people, but it’s really strange to see that as I was walking out of my house. She was kneeling down and spying on me watching me, which is weird to see because she presents herself as innocent, but I see all these other tactics she does in the dark

The innocent facade refers to a family member, such as a sister, who presents herself as a harmless and innocent person to the public while engaging in unsettling private behaviors. This creates a massive gap between their public self and their actual actions, such as spying or attacking others. This discrepancy is a classic red flag for covert narcissism, leaving victims feeling unsettled and as if they are losing their mind.
Psychological spying, such as catching a family member kneeling down and hiding to watch you, is a visceral violation of personal space. It shatters the feeling of security one should feel at home and creates a jarring realization that you are being intentionally monitored. This behavior is often linked to personality disturbances and contributes to the toxic psychological weight that victims carry within their own family environment.
Sibling venom describes the toxic nature of interactions where family members, like a sister or brother-in-law, act as if they are the 'bigger people' while actually attacking you. This metaphor highlights the deep-seated personality disturbances that often drive these harmful family dynamics. Such behavior often involves looking down on others and using strange tactics to maintain control, which creates a heavy psychological burden for the person being targeted.
