Explore Buddhi: The Yoga of Inner Knowing. Learn to shift from the analytical mind to intuitive intelligence and the Vijnanamaya Kosha for an embodied practice.

When we help our students shift from the noisy, analytical prefrontal cortex to this quiet, knowing wisdom, we aren't just teaching them a new way to move—we are teaching them a new way to be.
I want to learn how to help people mainly my students learn to trust their intuition. In the yoga tradition to trust one self. In the yoga tradition, Buddhi represents the higher intellect or the seat of wisdom that communicates directly with the Self. It is an intuitive layer of intelligence that exists beneath the noisy, analytical mind. By tapping into Buddhi, practitioners can move beyond the mechanical checklists of the ego and access a deeper, quiet knowing that informs both their movement and their way of being.
The Vijnanamaya Kosha is often referred to as the wisdom sheath, where individuals can access a knowing that comes from beyond the logical mind. This layer of the self is central to the Yoga of Inner Knowing, as it allows students to move past the literal and the analytical. Engaging with this sheath helps practitioners shift from being mere spectators of their lives to becoming fully embodied and empowered.
When practitioners are stuck in the analytical prefrontal cortex, they often focus on matching an external image of a perfect pose, which can lock them out of their own experience. This reliance on the logical mind can lead to second-guessing and limiting beliefs. Shifting to intuitive intelligence allows students to reclaim their power, quiet the ego, and transition from a mechanical practice to a state of true inner wisdom.
