    Miles: Es que fijate que Spinoza era un radical para su época, el siglo XVII. Él decía que si una piedra que cae tuviera conciencia, ella también juraría que está cayendo porque quiere. Pero a ver, ¿tú crees que realmente elegimos o que somos como esa piedra, movidos por leyes que no vemos?

    Lena: Pues eso es lo que me vuela la cabeza. Porque si todo está determinado por la naturaleza, ¿dónde queda Dios en todo esto? Siempre nos han dicho que Dios es ese juez externo que decide y crea desde fuera.

    Miles: Tal cual, pero Spinoza rompe con eso. Para él, Dios no es un señor con barba sentado en una nube, sino que usa una frase que le costó la excomunión: *Deus sive Natura*, o sea, Dios o la Naturaleza. Lo que viene a decir es que no hay nada fuera de esa sustancia única.
