In dating, if you are always available and always text back immediately, you become a "solved puzzle" and your attention loses value. By being "authentically scarce"—prioritizing your own life, hobbies, and goals—you provide attention only sometimes. This creates a dopamine loop in the other person’s brain, causing them to focus more intensely on you as they "chase" the high of your next interaction.

    The Halo Effect is a cognitive bias where the brain lazily assumes that because a person excels in one visible area, they must be great at everything else.
