Ariel Lawhon est l'autrice à succès du New York Times pour The Frozen River et une écrivaine de fiction historique acclamée par la critique, spécialisée dans la mise en lumière de la vie de figures méconnues lors de moments charnières de l'histoire.

Née en 1978 à Taos, au Nouveau-Mexique, Lawhon a grandi sans eau courante ni électricité, développant un amour profond pour le récit grâce aux lectures à la lanterne de sa mère.
