Nikos Kazantzakis (1883–1957) es el aclamado autor griego de Zorba el griego y una de las figuras más célebres de la literatura mundial del siglo XX. Nacido en la Creta ocupada por los otomanos, Kazantzakis estudió filosofía bajo la tutela de Henri Bergson en París y fue profundamente influenciado por el pensamiento existencial de Nietzsche.
