  • overcoming childhood fear
  • lifelong curiosity
  • independent thought
  • building self-discipline
  • facing personal limitations

Citas de La sabiduría de vivir

  • I think, at a child's birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift should be curiosity.

  • I believe anyone can conquer fear by doing the things he fears to do, provided he keeps doing them until he gets a record of successful experiences behind him.

  • It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself.

  • Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give.

  • The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.

Personajes en La sabiduría de vivir

  • Louis HowePolitical advisor who taught her public speaking
  • Eleanor's GrandmotherThe relative who raised her with spartan methods
  • Eleanor's FatherThe parent who took her on early world adventures
  • Eleanor's AuntA wise relative who listened despite disabilities
