Osamu Dazai (nacido como Shūji Tsushima, 1909–1948), autor de Colegiala, fue uno de los novelistas más influyentes y controvertidos de Japón en el siglo XX. Publicada en 1939, Colegiala es una obra temprana de ficción psicológica que muestra la notable capacidad de Dazai para habitar diferentes perspectivas mientras explora temas como la alienación, la identidad y la agitación emocional de la adolescencia.
