Shelby Van Pelt es la autora superventas de Criaturas extremadamente inteligentes (Remarkably Bright Creatures), un debut de ficción literaria que explora temas como el duelo, la conexión y las segundas oportunidades a través de la improbable amistad entre una viuda y un pulpo en cautiverio. Nacida y criada en Tacoma, Washington, Van Pelt se graduó en el Claremont McKenna College con una licenciatura en Política, Filosofía y Economía antes de dedicarse a la consultoría durante casi una década.
