Gilles Louis René Deleuze (1925–1995) fue un filósofo francés y coautor de Mil mesetas, una de las obras más influyentes en la filosofía política posmoderna y la teoría crítica. Escrito junto al psicoanalista radical Félix Guattari, Mil mesetas constituye el segundo volumen de su innovadora serie Capitalismo y esquizofrenia, desafiando las narrativas convencionales a través de conceptos innovadores como la multiplicidad, el devenir y el pensamiento rizomático que vinculan la filosofía, la psicología y la crítica social.

Deleuze enseñó en la Universidad de París VIII desde 1969 hasta su jubilación en 1987, donde fue reconocido como un conferenciante cautivador y un pensador original.

Antes de colaborar con Guattari, fue autor de su obra maestra Diferencia y repetición (1968) y de influyentes estudios que revitalizaron el interés por Nietzsche, Spinoza, Hume y Bergson.
