Emily Rath is a romance and fantasy author whose work spans the Jacksonville Rays hockey romances, the Regency Second Sons series, and the Finnish folklore-inspired fantasy North Is the Night. Best known for Pucking Around, she is a New York Times, USA Today, and #1 Amazon bestselling author. ((https://www.emilyrathbooks.com/))
Emily Rath built her writing life along an unusual path, moving from childhood storytelling to advanced academic work and then back to fiction with unusual force. Raised in Northern Kentucky, she wrote from an early age, then set imaginative work aside for higher education and a career in political science. She earned a BA in political science and philosophy, two MAs in political science, and PhDs in peace studies and political science, later teaching modern African politics, international relations, development studies, and peace studies as a university professor. The major turning point came while she was living in Malawi conducting doctoral research: with limited electricity, limited internet access, and a young child at home, writing became both her evening entertainment and the practice that drew her back to authorship in earnest.
