Born in Egypt, Gawdat began his career as a systems engineer at IBM Egypt, soon progressing into leadership roles in technology across the Middle East and later joining major companies like NCR, British American Tobacco, and Microsoft, where he spent over seven years overseeing communications in emerging markets.
